Musical Director

Surjo is a consultant microbiologist at UCLH and, in his spare time, conductor of both our orchestra and choir. During his years at Imperial College School of Medicine he conducted its orchestra, choir and chamber choir.

Dr Lucy Abbott
Chair

Lucy is a consultant geriatrician at Frimley Park Hospital.  Whilst at University she was chair of the Imperial College School of Medicine Music Society and United Hospitals Music Society.  She plays clarinet and sings soprano in the choir.

Dr Matt Rollin

Matt is an ENT consultant at Imperial having graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine soon after the merger of Charing Cross Medical School, at which he was chairman of their Music Society. Matt is a keen tenor singer and trombone player.

Dr Jo Longman
Treasurer

Jo is an FY1 doctor working at Hillingdon Hospital and an excellent flute player. She is the treasurer of the ensemble so will probably be found suggesting your small donation and making sure the group does not go the way of Lehman Brothers!

Dr Ken Wu
Orchestra Manager

Ken is currently an ST1 paediatric trainee working at Hillingdon Hospital. He graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine where he was a member of the music society having sang in the choir, played in orchestra, and served on the committee. Ken plays violin for LDOC and is a keen pianist.

Dr Rupert Levy
Publicity and Deputy Orchestra Manager

​Rupert is currently taking a 'career break' from medicine, having graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine, and works in digital marketing in the City for a well-known property consultancy firm. Rupert is a keen clarinet player and a pretty terrible singer.

Dr Christina Tavener

Christina is an ST1 doctor training in obstetrics and gynaecology in North West London. She graduated from the Imperial College School of Medicine in 2015 and was a keen member of their music society, conducting both the main choir and chamber choir. She now enjoys playing both flute and piccolo and singing soprano (not all at the same time!) for LDOC.

​Richard (mostly known as RVP) is a CT1 surgical trainee working in the East Midlands deanery. He graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine and currently sings bass in the choir and plays viola for the orchestra. He can inevitably be found in the pub with a pint after rehearsals!

Matt is a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist. Since graduating from St. George's, he has sung with a number of choirs and just very occasionally steps in to also join the LDOC orchestra.
